Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test result should stay at home and self-isolate immediately for 10 days. This is because you could pass the infection on to others, even if you don’t have symptoms.

All other household members who remain well, must also stay at home and not leave the house for 10 days. This includes anyone in your ‘Support Bubble’.

Please notify the school if your child who is a pupil at Capel Manor receives a positive test result, or is supposed to be on-site and has to self-isolate because of contact with a positive case.

Out of hours COVID notification from January 2021:

As an increasing number of schools have had to send bubbles home to self-isolate, we want to make sure that we are able to respond and communicate quickly with you in the event that we have to do so at Capel.  We have, therefore, introduced an out of hours contact number: 07783 625711.  This is only to be used for the following:

  • Notification of a positive result for a child who is a pupil at Capel Manor (Not other family members)
  • Evidence of the positive test result must be sent with a text as soon as you are notified
  • Out of hours notification between 4pm and 7pm and between 9am and 7pm at weekends

If a positive notification has been received, you may receive a follow up telephone call.  However, this is not an advice line and telephone calls will not be answered.

If your child tests positive for COVID, even if they are not on site, please inform the school, during the school day so we can keep a track of cases within our school community.

Follow this link to read the Governments' updated guidance on what you can and can't do.

The school site will be closed for most pupils until Monday 8th March as part of an integral Social Distancing Strategy to control the spread of Coronavirus (this date may be reviewed nearer the time)

During this time, pupils will be provided with online learning resources and support to enable all pupils to continue their learning from home.  For more information please see our Remote Learning page.

Capel Manor Primary School will only remain open for children of critical workers (parents whose work is critical to the coronavirus (COVID-19) response) and vulnerable children. However, the DFE advice is that “parents and carers who are critical workers should keep their children at home if they can.”  Therefore, if critical workers can work from home and look after their children at the same time then they should do so.

All children on the list to come to school have received a confirmation from the school and have been sent a letter to inform them of the temporary changes to the arrangements for arrival and collection times.

If you have not received a letter, it means that your child has not been allocated a place at this time.   No children who are not on our list will be allowed to attend school.

Free School Meals

All families of pupils learning at home who are eligible for Free School Meals, are being provided with food vouchers.  For any questions regarding Free School Meals, please email the school office.

Arrangements for pupils learning on site (Please see our Risk Assessment for more information about the protective measures we have in place).

Changes to pupil arrival and collection times are shown in the table below:

At Capel Manor, we expect all parents/ carers to wear a mask when on the premises.  This includes dropping off or collecting their children unless you have a medical reason not to do so.

Free school meals are being provided as normal for all pupils in Reception and KS1 and those who are eligible in KS2. Pupils who do not receive FSM will be able to have a school meal or packed lunch as normal (We encourage you to take up the school meal to avoid transfer of infection from items carried between home and school.)

Your child will need to bring a water bottle, their reading book, and their PE kit back to school.

Thank you, once again for your continued support.

With warm wishes,

Mrs Enchill-Balogun (Headteacher)
