Early Years

All pupils at the end of reception year are assessed by their class teacher against the Early Learning goals in 17 different areas of learning. Pupils are judged to have reached a “Good level of Development” if they are working at the expected level in the prime areas of learning (personal, social and emotional development and communication and language) and in the specific areas of Mathematics and Literacy.

Key Stage One

At the end of KS1 (end of year 2), pupils are assessed in the subjects of Reading, Writing and Maths. KS1 SAT’s tests are used to inform teacher’s judgements along with teachers understanding of the children’s levels. As the system for assessing pupils has changed from previous years, it is not possible to compare these results to those from previous year.

Key Stage Two

At the end of KS2 (May in year 6), pupils sit National tests in Reading, Maths and Grammar and spelling with a score of 100 being the National expectation. Writing levels are evidenced from pupils writing across the year.

As the content of the National curriculum and system for assessing pupils has considerably changed in recent years, it is not possible to compare these results to those from previous years as the data is not “like for like.”
